Comments and anecdotes about the event:
After listening to Skip making Dirty Snow Balls; (25 times) comets. The group was asked questions about what went into the comet. The correct answer got a poster or the like. 700 to 1000 pieces. SCCK Astronomy Program. Program from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm. (3 Total) 19 guests. Glow in the Dark constellation maps today! Very hard to do with 15 K-2 graders but had 4 parents to help out. As always more stars end up on everything besides the maps. Working the telescope we had well over 2000 look through the eye piece. Over 3500 pieces, many given to troop leaders. We used a 8X10 nebula as our target. When shown where the graphic was mounted the WOW factor didn't take long to set in. Other displays and demonstrations were setup on the table. Viewing through a real scope was a real treat even looking at a poster. To the adults I would point out the the idea was to let first timers have the Opportunity to look through a scope.
