Don't miss Celestial History! Fate and Celestial Mechanics have provided a spectacular finale to the glorious 50th Annual Original Renaissance Faire and Golden Jubilee Season: A rare Annular Solar Eclipse will take place that day, and the latter part of the eclipse will be visible from the Renaissance Faire Village of Port Deptford....located at the Santa Fe Dam Recreation Area near the intersection of the 210 and 605 Freeways just east of Pasadena. Since directly observing the sun with the naked eye is hazardous and can result in injury to vision, Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth has directed that Learned Astronomers come to Port Deptford to assist in giving visitors to the Faire a Safe and Spectacular View of the Historic Eclipse. A projection system will be set up at the Court Glade at Renaissance Faire that will display the progress of the eclipse, and her Majesty has secured the assistance of the famed Italian Renaissance Astronomer Galileo Galeili, who will be present to explain the Historic Sun show to her court and her honored visitors. The Los Angeles Astronomical Society's Outreach Program, is providing the astronomical instruments and scientific acumen for this unique opportunity to experience history and astronomy together in an exciting and immediate way.
