Comments and anecdotes about the event:
The enthusiastic participants really appreciated the wealth of materials available for school, Scouts, and home schooling. "The quality of the materials is great, and the scale of the Universe activity with the Model Sun and Earth really was jaw-dropping. I had no idea!" The highlight of the evening was the TeleCon; to hear the head of the Mars Curiosity project discuss the details of the mission and provide a slide show to support it was really exciting, and the timing could not have been better! Everyone is really looking forward to August 5. The viewing of sunspots before the Sun set was very interesting, even though the Sun is not very active today. The concept of filters and their effectiveness really was brought home with the solar glasses and the filtered 10" telescope. The Solar Beads, part of the Magnetic Sun activity, was supplemented by samples of beads the presenters gave to the participants. Thank you, Night Sky Network!
