A total lunar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes completely through the Earth’s dark shadow, or umbra. During this type of eclipse, the Moon will gradually get darker and then take on a rusty or blood red color.Club members will bring there scopes out to the APO to observe the total eclipse of the moon. We will have an eclipse presentation in the APC starting at 8:00. Bring your red-light flashlights, binoculars  and a lawn chair.

There will be a $5.00 fee per person to help support the Arthur Pursell Observatory.

The Eclipse Times: Moon enters penumbra at 9:55 PM. Totality will be at 12:05 – 1:21 AM on the 15th. Eclipse ends at 3:37 when it completely leaves the earths shadow.
