SLAS members will having telescope viewing at Babler State Park 8-10pm. We will view the Moon, Jupiter, Mars and Saturn. Also double stars, and clusters. The Public is encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, binoculars. If you have a telescope bring that as well. SLAS members will be offering instruction on how to identify the Big Dipper and constellations such as Leo, Gemini and Virgo.

On May 17, 2014 - Sunset: 20:08; Civil twilight ends: 20:38; Astronomical twilight ends 21:56;  A 86% illuminated gibbous moon will rise at 11:09pm.  At 20:38 Mercury is very low in the W; Jupiter is in the W; Mars in in the SE; Saturn is very low in the SE.
