Come on down to the Downtown Digital Dome Theatre and Planetarium and enjoy a free planetarium show on Saturday August 1st at 10 a.m.  The free planetarium show is presented by the Tallahassee Astronomical Society.  The August sky over Tallahassee will be reviewed including prominent constellations, stars and planet positions.  The zodiac constellation Sagittarius and its nearby companion Ophiuchus, the 13th zodiac constellation, will be highlighted for "Learning Constellations".  The Binocular Object-of-the-Month is M8, the Lagoon Nebula, near Sagittarius.  Learn about M54 a globular cluster thought to be the nucleus of a dwarf galaxy in collision with our Milky Way, the "Messier object of the Month".  The Learning Astronomy topic this month is what astronomers learned about Pluto from the New Horizons Spacecraft.  While you are there stay for “The Ultimate Universe” and take a trip through 13.7 billion years of time, the 11:00 a.m. regular planetarium show at one-half off the regular price for those attending the 10:00 a.m. free planetarium show.

The Challenger Learning Center of Tallahassee is a 32,000 square-foot facility located on beautiful Kleman Plaza in downtown Tallahassee.
