Nightscape Photography

Dave Weixelman

Dave’s presentation will be on nightscape photography.  Nightscape photography involves capturing landscape-style images at night.  That can include the beautiful Milky Way, a starry sky, or your favorite constellation above a landscape.  He will cover the typical equipment used in this type of imaging as well as various methods of planning and taking the images.

Dave Weixelman is a retired Forest Service botanist.  He has been an amateur astronomer since Junior High School when he built his first telescope – an 8-inch reflector.  Since those days, Dave has been an avid visual observer and imager of the night sky.  One of Dave’s favorite pastimes is photographing the Milky Way using nightscape photography.
