Lima will be well positioned for the April 8, 2024 Total Solar Eclipse and will be in totality for a little less than 4 minutes.  Schoonover Observatory will be central to activities associated with the eclipse in Lima.  The total solar eclipse will be viewable live on the large screen TV; circumstances permitting from the telescope in the dome, otherwise it will have a live feed from another location under totality.

Times listed below are local for Lima, Ohio:
Totality begins at 3:09 p.m. and totality ends at 3:13 p.m.

Overall, the eclipse lasts nearly 2½ hours, beginning at 1:54 p.m. local time, and ending at 4:26 p.m.

Information for Visitors
Instructions for the Public:
The Schoonover Observatory is undergoing some remodeling, so it may not be fully furnished for the eclipse.  Contractors were informed about the importance of having the observatory functional for the eclipse.
There will be limited parking nearby, possibly at the pool.  No driving on the grass. 
There may be other local events in advance of the eclipse the weekend of the 6th and 7th.
This area has not seen a total solar eclipse since 1806 and the next one will be in 2099.

Very beautiful Eclipse with only high thin clouds at times that didn't not block any part of the eclipse.
