Steele County Astronomical Society (SCAS) organized to share common interests in amateur astronomy. Affiliated with the Astronomical League, SCAS is active in South Central Minnesota and participates in promoting local, national, and international astronomy outreach activities. Several public outreach events include:

• Rice Lake State Park Presentations
• City Parks & Recreation Events
• Local Observatory Tours
• Astronomical League Observation Programs
• "Globe at Night" Light Pollution Outreach

Regularly scheduled meeting are in Owatonna, MN at 6:30 P.M., on the first Thursday of every month at the Owatonna Public Library, third floor Gainey Conference Room. Members of the public are welcome.

For  Members Only - an astronomy viewing site South of Owatonna is available with concrete pads for telescopes.
