NSN members joined us on October 3, 2018 for a webinar to help astronomy clubs get ready for fall viewing, and great events like International Observe the Moon Night, Astronomy Day, and World Space Week!  The webinar introduced the great activities and other resources in the Our Galaxy, Our Universe outreach toolkit.  With the Andromeda Galaxy almost directly overhead, this is a great time to bring deep space exploration and the immensity of cosmological scales to visitors at your outreach events.

Two of the most misunderstood concepts in astronomy are distance and scale. Related to those are the difference between the solar system, the galaxy, and the universe.  The Our Galaxy, Our Universe toolkit has activities and resources designed to help your audiences visualize the basic structure and organization of our galaxy and the rest of the universe, and the place of our solar system within it.
