Google Pittsburgh will be hosting a urban astronomy extravaganza from 8pm to(Pittsburgh. The night will kick off with a chamber concert of ethereal works by Lawrenceville resident Jonathan Cordle and friends. Members of the Amateur Astronomers Association of Pittsburgh will share views through their telescopes and binoculars, along with information on astronomy, telescopes and dark skies/lighting. Google Software Engineers will demonstrate the Sky Map application, for the Verizon Android phone, which lets users locate and name planets, stars and constellations just by pointing their phone to space.
