					Have you heard that Jefferson College is partnering with the St. Louis Astronomical Society to build an observatory on the Hillsboro campus. In spite of COVID, the plans continue to move forward:<br /><br />- The location on campus has been decided and site preparation is underway<br />- Site plans and artist renderings have been developed by an architect<br />- Money has been allocated to rollout phase one of site preparation<br />- A research grade telescope and an observatory dome have been purchased<br /><br />We had hoped to host in-person star parties at the observatory site but this is not possible due to the pandemic. Instead, we will have a 60 minute &quot;virtual star party&quot; that will be hosted by faculty at Jefferson College and members of the St. Louis Astronomical Society. 						<strong>Information for Visitors:</strong>

						Have you heard that Jefferson College is partnering with the St. Louis Astronomical Society to build an observatory on the Hillsboro campus. In spite of COVID, the plans continue to move forward:<br /><br />- The location on campus has been decided and site preparation is underway<br />- Site plans and artist renderings have been developed by an architect<br />- Money has been allocated to rollout phase one of site preparation<br />- A research grade telescope and an observatory dome have been purchased<br /><br />We had hoped to host in-person star parties at the observatory site but this is not possible due to the pandemic. Instead, we will have a 60 minute &quot;virtual star party&quot; that will be hosted by faculty at Jefferson College and members of the St. Louis Astronomical Society.
