This was a meet and greet with patrons of the Chapman Public Library to learn about the Library lending program. The library just received an Orion 4.5" StarBlast telescope. We had a hands on program with the telescope. We set up the Exploring the Solar System Banner with the locations of the planets as of May 4 to understand the movements of the planets and their distance. The patrons had a copy of this banner to take home with them. The banner is attached to this event report for viewing or download. The librarian had a signup sheet for patrons to sign up for check out once they have the telescope registered in their program. Two patrons have signed up before the event was over. We were set up behind the library which was good exposure for the library but not a great place for any observing, we were right under 5 street lights, one just a few yards away and made it difficult to even see the stars of the Big Dipper. All the same it was a great event.
