*** Do NOT look at the Sun without proper safety equipment! ***

An annular solar eclipse occurs when the Moon is too far away from the Earth to completely cover the Sun. This results in a ring of light around the darkened Moon. The Sun's corona is not visible during an annular eclipse. The BBAA will be setup on the boardwalk at 24th street (near the Old Coast Guard Station). If weather permits the public can observe the annular solar eclipse through our telescopes. Please note the time that we will be there, it's early.

The BBAA will have solar filters on the telescopes setup at the boardwalk that will allow you to safely look at the Sun. We will also have a limited amount of solar eclipse glasses on hand that will allow you safely view the Sun.

It is never safe to look at a partial or annular eclipse, or the partial phases of a total solar eclipse, without the proper equipment and techniques.
The solar eclipse will NOT be a total solar eclipse so proper safety equipment must be used when viewing the Sun.
