We will be holding our March 5 meeting for members and guests starting at 1:15 PM in Berliner Hall of Hofstra University, 1st floor, California Avenue (just south of Hempstead Turnpike).  Parking is in the lot on Huntington Place across the side street.  AOS meetings include observing reports and guest speaker talks on astronomy topics and are held once a month.

Starting at 3:00 PM guest speaker Joe Rao will be presenting a talk about Solar Eclipses. One of Joe's life passions is Solar Eclipses, and over the last 50 years he has chased 13 eclipses around the globe by land, sea and air. A fabulous storyteller, Joe will detail the interesting, funny and poignant occurrences that he has experienced in his efforts to briefly bask in the shadow of the Moon.

For 21 years Joe was the Chief Meterologist and Science Editor at News 12 Westchester (NY).  He has been nominated for 8 Emmy Awards and is the recipient of the 2009 Northeast Region of the Astronomical League Walter Scott Houston Award.  In 2015 he was voted first amont weathercasters in New York State by the Associated Press.

This will be a hybrid event via WebEx.  Non-members please contact our Secretary for an invitation to attend at AOSSecretary@aosny.org.
