Members of the Eastbay Astronomical Society have a truly unique advantage over other astronomy clubs: access to three large observatory-grade telescopes, two of which are classical antique refractors (8" Leah, and 20" Rachel), and a computer-controlled reflector (36" Nellie). Only EAS members and their guests are allowed to look through these telescopes on specially designated evenings (usually Sundays) once each month, weather permitting, and we determine what we'd like to look at. It's always a good idea to dress warmly and in layers, as it can get very cold. Hats, scarves and gloves are especially recommended from late Fall to early Spring!

Before leaving home, ALWAYS watch your emails or call Gerald McKeegan (Home: 925 926-0853 Cell: 925 899-3468) to verify the event is still on. Sometimes bad weather or other events at Chabot can cause us to cancel-out.

Hope to see you there!
