2014 Lyrid Meteors grace the night skies April 16 - 25, peaking the morning of April 23, making April 22 the best time to watch. Mingo's dark skies make the observatory a great location to watch meteor showers. Look toward the East. Lyrid meteors seem to radiate from bright star Vega in the constellation Lyra. Mingo Observatory will be open April 22 featuring a free astronomy lecture. Weather permitting see the Lyrids from Mingo, April 22, 2014.
