The Amateur Astronomers Group will celebrate Astronomy Day and sponsor an evening under the stars. A Crescent Moon and Jupiter dominate the western sky in Gemini, while bright Mars rises in Virgo. Saturn will be near opposition. Come early and enjoy the beauty of Dog Canyon at sundown. This event will be held at the park's group shelter. For information call: 575-437-8284.

Information for Visitors:
Please park in the lower parking lot and walk up to the group shelter parking lot. If you have a telescope and wish to bring it, please feel free to do so. Please arrive before sundown and drive up to the top parking lot where the other astronomers will be able to assist you in setting up your telescope. If you require handicapped access, please let the park ranger know and he will direct you as to where to park.
