This post is to inform the public of the Perseids Meteor Shower, This is not an announcement about a club event.
The 2016 Perseid meteor shower will peak on August 12 and 13. A waxing gibbous Moon will make it harder for observers to watch the meteor shower.

The Los Angeles Astronomical Society is NOT having an event tonight for the public to observe the meteor shower.
Any kind of light will hinder viewing of the meteor shower, including light from the moon. No special equipment is required to see the shower. Simply go outside with an open view and away from as many city lights as possible, including street lights and house lights. Laying on a lounge chair is a great idea!
