Please join Colorado Springs Astronomical Society for a Free-and-Open-to-The-Public Star Party at Mueller State Park, Saturday, August 11th, 8:00 – 12:00 PM!
Each month the Colorado Springs Astronomical Society sets up telescopes in local parks to share the night skies with the community.
The Perseid meteor shower, is one of the brighter meteor showers of the year and tends to peak around August 9-13. Join us in the darker skies just a short distance away from the city lights to watch this spectacle of nature. Bring a lawn chair and a blanket and we’ll point out where to look. A few of us will also have our telescopes out and looking at the more distance objects visible through our telescopes. Without the light pollution of the city and the Moon it should be a stellar night under the stars.
NOTE: As observing is dependent upon weather, please check the calendar listing at CSASTRO.ORG for any updates/cancellations prior to the event.
