Event

Another Volunteer Opportunity!  This one is for Cub Scout Pack 323 on the evening of May 3rd.  Please see details below:  The pack is expecting approximately 80 scouts and family members so, we could really use your help!  set up time starts at 8pm and my hope is to start veiwing about 9pm. The links provided below describe the badges that some of the boys are seeking.  They will need to locate, then describe two constellations to be awarded this badge...I think we can help with that!  Please consider volunteering for this event!  Questions?  I can be reached at outreach@askc.org or 913-225-0235

Parking:

Green is the parking lot, just off the Colbern road where you'll enter the campsite

Yellow is where our pack (323) should be located.  Note that I believe another pack will be there that day as well, but they'll be further west.

As for pulling up to the site, this facility has been fairly strict against having vehicles drive up to the camp area. We can help provide carts if that helps with carrying the equipment or can provide help from other adults to help carry it.

Date: May 3rd

As for time, we can be flexible and happy to work around what your volunteers suggest as ideal.  We do have other events we do at our campout, but timing for those can easily be adjusted.

Regarding numbers, we don't have final numbers right now, but our Pack currently consists of 55 kids.  We invite all family members to join us for these campouts, and we had 80 people sign-up for our fall campout (this was inclusive of scouts plus their family members (parents & siblings)).  That was one of our larger turnouts in recent years, but I'd expect we may see a similar turn-out in May.

As for rank requirements, there is an elective for our Tiger Scouts: Sky is the Limit | Boy Scouts of America

And there is a STEM award that all scouts can do (though I need to confirm this with our council): Out of This World | Boy Scouts of America

Regardless, those 2 links should provide the extent of what they'd need to earn these awards, but we're primarily hoping to just get the kids engaged and excited.  They will range in grades from K-5.

Once again, really appreciate anything you have to offer!

Volunteers:  Joe Miriani, Jerel Williams, Jack Johnson

Thanks,

Travis
