Event

Come join us at Moon Over Cary for an evening of astronomy fun at the Cary Public Library. You'll be able to view the Moon, planets, the Andromeda Galaxy and more through the excellent telescopes of the volunteers from the Lake County Astronomical Society. This event is part of the Summer 2025 Season of LCAS's Astronomy Under the City Lights (AUTCL) program.

The events are free and open to all ages. No registration is required. The events are very kid-friendly. We offer tokens to our young visitors. You can join the event at anytime and leave at any time. The best views are usually during the darkest skies but there's something to see whenever you join us.

The Moon is visible for all events, but sometimes we can share a view of a planet, too. Sometimes a bright satellite like the International Space Station will cross the sky during an event.

We encourage our visitors to check out the astronomy books inside the host library.

This outdoor event depends on good weather, so clouds and/or rain will cause the event to be postponed to the backup date July 2nd. Please contact the Library for details
