Sperry Observatory is open every Friday night free of charge to the public from 7:30 pm - 10:30 pm for observing through our 2 large telescopes, a 24 inch reflector and a 10 inch refractor. In addition a presentation is given at 8:30 pm on an astronomy, astrophotography or science related topic. This Friday our presentation will be about image processing basics of astrophotography images. One of our members will be talking about how she processes her images in an easy to understand format. This presentation is given in person in Sperry Observatory. And weather permitting we open up the 2 telsccopes for obsereving. Even if the weather does not cooperate for observing we still show the telescopes to the public and how they work.

Event Report

Comments and anecdotes about the event:
Although the evening was not favorable for observing we still had up to 40 of the public come to the observatory to see and learn about the telescopes and to listen to the presentation. The presentation was excellent and very well received with several questions asked during and after it. The presenter very willing answered all the questions and stayed long after it was over to answer more.
