Relativity for Anybody course
For many people, the theory of relativity developed by Albert Einstein (1879-1955) seems like a subject that only physicists can understand; however, it is actually based on simple, if confoundingly bizarre, concepts. We will present both the special and general principles of relativity, with virtually no mathematics or equations, to an audience of non-scientists armed only with curiosity and courage.
This 4-session couse (over 4 weeks) will be taught by club member Mark Whipple. The first session begins on Thursday, Sept. 25, from 9 am to 11 am, with 3 more sessions on the following Thursdays at the same time. The course will be offered both in-person and online. Registration and fees are required to participate. Find out more at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute website.
