Event Report

Comments and anecdotes about the event:
In spite of what appeared would be a very cloudy night, conditions improved and clouds dissipated. We had 7 members at the park, with 3 telescopes and one binocular parallelogram set up for the 12 visitors that stopped by. One other telescope remained in the car. Early visitors were able to view sunspots on the setting Sun through a white light filter. Mars, albeit small could be seen setting to the west. We showed M13 the Hercules cluster, and M11 the Wild Duck Cluster as well the double star Albireo. We were able to point out a number of visible constellations and guidepost stars.
