Event

Daytime event for the OK Kids to come out for some science and nature. The Kansas Astronomical Observers will have a telescope available to observe the Sun. We will count how many sunspots there might be with a brief understanding of the life cycle and structure of a star. We'll make some UV bracelets and learn about exposure to ultraviolet light.

Comments and anecdotes about the event:
Set up a C8 with a solar filter to observe the Sun. The Sun had many sunspots. I explained the 11 year cycle and what a sunspot is. We discussed UV and how to protect ourselves and then made some bracelets using UV beads.
