Monthly AAL club meeting. Rick Heschmeyer will be presentng “The Useful Stars: The Night Sky as Calendar, Navigatonal Aid, and cultural Repository”. The meetng will start at 7pm at the Baker Wetlands Discovery Center, and will be followed by public telescope observing, weather permitting. All visitors are welcome.

The National Weather Service Office in Topeka issued a Winter Storm Warning effective from tomorrow until Sunday evening.  With the potential for significant snowfall and extremely cold temperatures and wind chills, we have decided to cancel this month’s meeting and public observing session. This month’s presentation will be rescheduled for Sunday, March 29 at 7 PM at Baker Wetlands Discovery Center and will be followed by Public Telescope Observing starting around 8 PM.  The safety of our members and guests is important to us. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Stay safe and warm this weekend. We will see you in February.
