Title: An Evening with Hubble Space Telescope Scientist Dr. Mitchell Revalski
Event Info: We are honored to host Dr. Mitchell Revalski, a Staff Scientist on the Wide Field Camera 3 team for the Hubble Space Telescope at the Space Telescope Science Institute.
While the final topic is still to be announced, Dr. Revalski's work offers a fascinating glimpse into cutting-edge astronomy. He is involved in instrument calibration for Hubble and leads projects on PSF modeling. His research focuses on understanding the evolution of galaxies by studying the properties of gas within them and measuring the energetic impact of mass outflows from supermassive black holes in active galaxies.
Dr. Revalski is also passionate about STEM outreach, making him an excellent speaker for our club . This is a fantastic opportunity to hear from a scientist working on one of history's most important telescopes and to learn about the forefront of galactic research.
