The Cosmic Coffeehouse is the brainchild of longtime SSAS club member Steve LaFlamme, and is a monthly Zoom gathering of interested persons that enage in casual discussions on all things astronomy. It is always held on the 15th of the month beginning at 7pm eastern time, and generally runs for about 1 - 1 1/2 hours. Topics typically include observing and imaging projects that folks have been currently working on, and the group interests include a diverse range of topics. The only way to get the Zoom link sent to you is to email Steve at astro-geek@comcast.net and ask to be included.

December's Cosmic Coffeehouse featured presentations from seven attendees on a variety of topics. Some of those topics included micrometeorites, images of Geminid meteors, Comet K1-Atlas, Comet 240P-Neat, and a new nova in the Andromeda Galaxy, Meade SCT repairs, Saturn and Titan images, Jupiter/GRS/Io shadow images, upcoming lunar "X" + "V" sightings, a host of deep-sky images including many irregular and peculiar galaxies, wide field and deep sky views of the southern skies, a tumbling satellite in the geostationary belt, and a book recommendation about the history of observing Mars. This was the 44th consecutive session of the monthly Cosmic Coffeehouse and lasted 90 minutes.
