Event

Next Friday, January 9th, Cristina Ramirez of Dark Sky Texas will be presenting to the San Antonio Astronomical Association their important work in preserving the Dark Skies over Texas.

The work of Dark Sky Texas focuses on preserving natural night skies by reducing light pollution through education, advocacy, and community action. Dark Sky Texas’ goal is to promote responsible lighting ordinances while highlighting the environmental, economic, and cultural benefits of dark skies for wildlife, human health, tourism, and astronomy. Our speaker will be covering Dark Sky Texas’ new All Sky camera, a sky quality meter whose visual outputs can easily be understood by the public and community decision-makers. Topics will also include Dark Sky Texas’ past accomplishments and future opportunities, along with how you can help support this organization in their efforts to protect our dark skies for current and future generations.

Come and join us on January 9th.
