Two Presentations: Club Member John Stewart ("Stargazer" on the AELC groups.io) will present "Pull Back the Veil of Light Pollution: The PVS-14 Advantage". John will discuss his use of the PVS-14 image intensifer that, coupled with a telescope eyepiece and filter, turns the scope into a real-time visual low-light image system for faint deep sky objects in light polluted skies.The faint or near invisible becomes visible with striking detail. For the second Presentaion, Tom Lugar will present "How a Wing Generates Lift: Unless You Are an Aeronautical Engineer, What You Were Taught is Incorrect". This will be a topic on the 'A' of NASA, 'Aeronautics'. Tom had referenced this issue in his talk on Relativity as an example of a scientific explanation that is presented incorrectly to the general public and gets an emotional response when it is debunked. I received several emails requesting a short talk on the subject.
