Astronomy enthusiasts are set to celebrate the national observance of ASTRONOMY DAY on Saturday, April 25 with activities held at the Sandusky Library from 9:30 AM-NOON Activities for children include activity tables, planetarium shows, solar observing, book readings, and a telescope building workshop. Adults will have the opportunity to take in a presentation by a NASA Solar System Ambassador, solar observing, and a telescope display.

Astronomy Day was created by the Astronomical League, the world’s largest federation of amateur astronomical societies and individuals and has been celebrated nationally since 1973.

Astronomy Day is made possible with the assistance of amateur astronomers from the Richland Astronomical Society and the Black River Astronomical Society. Outdoor activities may be curtailed due to inclement weather.

Join local astronomer Mitch Luman and members of the

Black River Astronomical Society as we celebrate National

outside the Library 9:30 am-Noon. Activities for children

a NASA Solar System Ambassador.
