We will be having another virtual stargazing party next Thursday! This one is particularly suitable for K-12 students and beginner stargazers as we'll take a closer look at those naked-eye and binocular gems in the sky. The event is FREE with a quick RSVP here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/themed-virtual-stargazing-bino…. Anyone is welcome to join regardless of their physical locations. Please feel free to share with your organization and/or community contacts!

How can we stargaze without a telescope? Join us and take a look at some naked-eye/binocular objects that you can see from your backyard!

About this Event
Our virtual stargazing party continues and this time we will be taking a closer look at those naked-eye and binocular gems! The list of observing targets will be anounced soon.
This virtual event is free and open to the public. The event URL can be found at the bottom of the EventBrite registration confirmation email.

FAQs:
1. Why do I have to register?
Answer: we are a grant-funded program, based on which the free outreach events are enabled. The program requires us to conduct evaluations and your email address is needed so we could follow up with a survey and have a relatively accurate estimate of attendance. Your survey response is completely anonymous and will be analyzed by a third-party evaluator, and we will only see the statistical results and the comments on our performance. We would love to make the outreach events better and better based on all your needs and interests!

2. Why can't we start the event at an earlier time?
Answer: the event start time largely depends on the brightness of the sky and the altitude of the objects we look at. Given it's in the fall, the sky is dark enough for observing starting from ~8pm. If you cannot stay up late, we recommend that you save the event URL and check out the video later.

3. Is this event kids friendly?
Answer: yes, and we are trying our best to make it more appealing to the younger ones based on the survey feedback. We will show the live view of different celestial objects for more than half of the time, and use the rest to talk a little bit about science behind them, the constellations and the night sky.

4. Where can I find the event URL in the confirmation email?
Answer: once registered, you will be receiving a registration confirmation email from EventBrite. In the email, scroll pass “Order Summary,” and the event URL and additional information are provided in the “Additional Information” section.
