Event

Star parties are an excellent opportunity for those new to astronomy to view the night sky with a variety of telescopes. The Tandy Hills Star Party is located at the Tandy Hills Natural Area (3400 View Street, Fort Worth, TX) around the concrete sidewalk circle just north of View Street.

Star parties are scheduled each month near the first quarter moon to view our closet celestial object. Telescopes are also used to observe planets, bright stars and constellations in the night sky.

These parties “officially” begin at dusk and last until 10:00 PM. Club members arrive early to set up their telescopes. Some members often bring their solar scopes so people who arrive early can view the Sun until sunset.

The public is also welcome and invited to bring their own astronomy equipment and are encouraged to ask club members for assistance as well.
