Join the Night Sky Network and Kristen Weaver on Tuesday, May 16 at 6pm Pacific/9pm Eastern to learn about the changes in our environment during eclipses and how you can do real science with the GLOBE Eclipse App.

About GLOBE Eclipse
Energy from the Sun warms our planet, and changes in sunlight can also cause changes in temperature, clouds, and wind. What happens when the Sun is blocked by the Moon during an eclipse? How will the eclipse affect these solar-powered processes? You can observe and report on these atmospheric changes with GLOBE Eclipse, a temporary tool in the GLOBE Observer app. In this webinar you will learn how the app works and the types of data you can collect, as well as supplemental resources and materials available to support your programming during the upcoming solar eclipses.

Kristen Weaver is the Deputy Coordinator for GLOBE Observer, the app of the Global Learning and Observations to Benefit the Environment (GLOBE) Program. The goal of the app is to extend the reach of the long-standing citizen science and science education program to non-school-based audiences. She was also previously an Outreach Specialist for the Global Precipitation Measurement Mission. Prior to her work with NASA, Kristen taught middle school science for eight years in Maryland and Colorado, with a primary focus in Earth Science. She holds an M.A. in Education and a B.S. in Computer Science and Psychology, both from the University of Denver.
