Event

Members of the Astronomical Society of New Haven and the Thames Amateur Astronomical Society will have their telescopes set up to show you some of the best objects in the summer sky. If the skies are clear, we will be able to see the crescent moon, Venus, Saturn, star clusters, nebulae, galaxies, and many more fascinating objects in deep space.
The Perseid meteor shower will be beginning at this time, so if you bring a blanket or a lawn chair you can sit back and look for meteors streaking across the sky. Bring binoculars if you have them. If you bring a flashlight, please cover it with red cellophane or red plastic to preserve everyone’s night vision.
