Event

Join MOSI astronomers for a truly magnificent spectacle -- a solar eclipse! While Tampa Bay will only see about 60% obscuration, the view through our sun-safe telescopes is sure to wow and amaze. On top of the main event, museum educators will have hands-on activities stationed around our Science Park area. Eclipse glasses will be available for purchase at the museum gift shop.

Your next chance to catch a solar eclipse from Tampa is in 2028, though the obscuration will only reach around 13%. This is the best time to see a great eclipse before August 2045, when Tampa will be in the parth of totality!
