Event

Club member Mark Whipple will present a 6 class course over 6 weeks (from Jan. 16 – Feb. 20) on:
History of Astronomy: From Stonehenge to Sputnik

The human fascination with the heavens is as old as mankind itself, filled with superstitions, deities, fears and only gradually a rational understanding of our planet, solar system and universe. We will explore that journey of discovery from some of the earliest beliefs to our modern but still incomplete sense of the cosmos and our place in it.

There are both an in-person and an online option for this course. Participants must choose only one option to attend; please ensure that you are registering for the option you prefer, as we may not be able to accommodate changes.
Registration and fees are required for this in-person and online course through OLLI at UNC-Asheville.
