
Astronomy Festival on the National Mall

Rain location: inside the Smithsonian Castle.
Celebrate the summer solstice with telescope observations of the Sun, Jupiter, Saturn, star clusters, and multi-colored double stars combined with 100 astronomers and astronomy educators from 21 organizations who will do hands-on activities and show the public the wonders of astronomy.
The Astronomy Festival on the National Mall is the largest annual astronomy outreach event in the US — help us break our record of 8,000 people!
This year the Astronomy Festival on the National Mall will be presented in association with the Smithsonian Solstice Saturday events. The National Air and Space Museum and the Smithsonian Museums will be open until midnight with free parties, programs, and performances.
