Event Report

Comments and anecdotes about the event:
Visited with the kids about the phases of the Moon. I set up a lamp with a bright 300W light bulb to represent the Sun, then used a ball on a stick to mimic the Moon. Had the kids rotate around to simulate and see the phases of the Moon. We dropped rocks in a pan of flour to make craters and explained why the Earth doesn't seem to show very many craters. We played a sorting game with a Moon phase banner and sorted the 13 cards in order from Full Moon to Full Moon. We played where an astronaut lost 10 items on the Moon (stickers randomly placed on the Moon banner) and they searched for them using 2x power binoculars while looking at the Moon banner.
