Club member Mark Whipple will lead this course on Aristotle to Einstein:
A History of Physics.

This is a 6-week course that meets on Thursdays from 9-11 a.m. at the Reuter Center on the UNC-Asheville campus.  The first class is January 12, and the last class is February 16.
Pre-registration is required.  Find out more at this link:

What we now call physics is a collection of often apparently unrelated
topics such as motion, forces, gravity, electricity, energy and matter.
Understanding the laws that govern these phenomena is a process as
old as mankind itself; we will trace the historical development of that
quest. Along the way we will see the evolution of science itself—
including revolutionary contributions by Galileo Galilei, Sir Isaac
Newton, James Clerk Maxwell, Max Planck and Albert Einstein—as well
as some blunders. Prerequisites: Participants do not need expertise in,
understanding of or aptitude for physics. Note: There are both an in-
person and an online option for this course.
