Event

To celebrate Astronomy Day 2014, ASSNE will host a public day of observing on the lawn of Barrington, RI's town hall. This event will run from1 pm to 9:30 pm, and include both solar and night-time observing.

This event is FREE and open to the public - adults and kids are welcome! This is usually our biggest event of the year, with upwards of 500 stargazers!

Note that this event may be cancelled at short notice, in the event of bad weather. (We will observe in clear to partly cloudy conditions only.) Pleas check the weather before heading out. For evening observing, closed shoes, a jacket and a hat are recommended.

Location: Barrington Town Hall, Rhode Island, 283 County Road, off Rt 114. There is plenty of parking in the town hall lot.

Our largest event of the year - solar observing in the afternoon, followed by observing of planets, Moon and DSOs in the evening. Great event, lots of good questions and eager participants, and a good night for it.
