Weather permitting enjoy viewing late winter and early spring astronomical objects through members' telescopes and big binoculars. The Moon will be visible starting early in the evening in nearly its first quarter. Seeing it through a telescope or big binoculars let's you discover many interesting details as the terminator, the light-dark boundary, moves across its face bringing its features into sharp contrast. Some of the Lunar seas and craters that will be visible are described on Skyscrapers by David Huestis using his hand-drawn map http://www.theskyscrapers.org/stuff/contentmgr/files/2/73564371b947983aaeeacfe57a0a84ec/images/first_qtr_moon_with_features_named.jpg
Orion with its amazing nebula will be visible, as well as the Beehive Cluster in Cancer, the Perseus Double Cluster, the Pleiades, and many more.
