Event

Everyone is invited to join us at our observatory for the opportunity to look through different types of telescopes and enjoy a variety of celestial objects. There will be members available to provide guidance from basic constellation spotting to all aspects of the universe. Our observatory features a 14 inch telescope and a classroom. We also have about 1 acre of open ground for setting up your own equipment. A donation of $ 2.00 per person is appreciated. Families are welcome but children MUST be supervised.

For the safety and enjoyment of everyone, please review
 Star Party Etiquette

During the Fall and Winter months the temperature drops quickly after dark. Be sure to dress warmly.

The site is only open to the public at club star parties and other scheduled events. If you would like to visit at other times, please contact our
  Group Director.

Due to our remote location it is not advised for observers to go alone.

Events may be cancelled due to weather conditions. Check back here for cancellations.

Information for Visitors
Instructions for the Public:
Everyone is invited to our monthly public observing night at our observatory (weather permitting- check this page before driving out; we will typically post by 4:00 if canceled)! Come out and see planets, nebulae, the Moon, star clusters, and more up close and personal! This event is free for members and non-members can attend for a donation of as little as $2. Children are welcome but must be supervised and must stay on observatory grounds. Those wanting to bring groups of 10+ need to make separate arrangements through our website, (www.astrotulsa.com).

**SEE BOTTOM FOR DIRECTIONS**

Please bring a jacket and wear closed toed shoes! It gets chilly up on the hill and in the dome. Closed toed shoes are suggested since the observatory is out in the country- We spray and maintain the grounds, but there are still bugs and the occasional spider, scorpion, or other wild critter (jeans or other long pants are also a good idea). We are not responsible for any injuries and don't want anyone to get hurt!

We have running water for the restroom but do not recommend drinking it. We will have snacks and drinks available for a donation. Of course, you can bring your own telescope or just enjoy sharing the view from some of the members' scopes.

Gates open about 4:30.

Please use caution when entering the observing grounds. For safety, DO NOT TURN OFF YOUR HEADLIGHTS but please use low beams. Please park in the Visitor's Parking lot next to the AT&T building.
