Event

The San Antonio Astronomical Association (SAAA) is thrilled to host a Messier Marathon at Fort McKavett State Historic Site, Texas, from March 19-23, 2026 (primary observing night: March 21, 2026). This event offers a rare opportunity to observe all 110 Messier objects in a pristine dark sky (Bortle 2-3) and earn Astronomical League certificates and pins (for 50, 70, or 110 objects).

A collaborative effort by SAAA, Johnson Space Center Astronomical Society (JSCAS), Austin Astronomical Society (AAS), North Houston Astronomy Club (NHAC), and New Braunfels Astronomy Club, with outreach to Fort Worth Astronomical Society and Texas Astronomical Society of Dallas
