Comments and anecdotes about the event:
Despite the clouds and rain, we still put on a few presentations under the tent. We shared with the patrons the solar eclipses that are coming up this October and next April. We did set up under the tent a C8 telescope and 3D printed 3" illuminated Moon about 30' apart. This would represent the apparent scaled size of the Moon while viewing through the telescope. We placed a black jacket behind the 3D Moon to give it better contrast. This was a great alternative for cloudy night viewing. The patrons and amateur astronomers loved it. One of the club members showed the patrons how to focus binoculars to your individual vision. This woman exclaimed to her husband, "Come here honey, this is life changing!"
