We will be exploring the Solar Eclipses that are coming up on October 14, 2023 (Annular Eclipse), and again on April 8, 2024 (Total Eclipse). We will be exploring the difference between the two eclipses and ways to view the eclipse safely with the use of solar glasses or solar projection. Solar glasses will be given away free during the lecture at the historic Canton Township Carnegie Library in Canton, Kansas.
We will also be introducing a library telescope program and binocular program for patrons to check out like a book. The telescope is a 4.5" portable tabletop telescope to view the night sky. Then the binoculars are an 8x42 Vortex Crossfire that can be used for astronomy viewing, bird watching, and spectator sports. They are lightweight and easily used for both kids and adults.
Look forward to seeing you there.
