Event

Let's learn about the Solar Eclipse coming October 14, 2023. We will have some fun with some hands-on activities to understand the cosmic coincidence of a solar eclipse. We will be handing out free solar glasses and learn how to safely view the Sun with them and why it is important.

There will be other astronomy related hands-on activities available for all ages to explore at your own pace. In the Marvin Auditorium 101 ABC.

Hope to see you there.

Event Report

Comments and anecdotes about the event:
We set up 12 tables with different aspects of astronomy science in the conference hall of the library. We had 5 people from 3 different astronomy clubs participate with this event. 6 members of the library staff helped out, too. One club member brought his meteorite collection and set it up for display. I'm told by the library staff that this was the largest attraction the library has seen. Everyone seemed to have a good time.
