Comments and anecdotes about the event:
We were one of many displays at the Maker Faire located at the Exploration Place in Wichita, KS. We were set up next to an astronomer colleague who has a passion for astrophotography. I selected a few outreach activities to attract the astro curious, and curious they were. Some stuck around to see all the activities, while others were satisfied with one or two activities and moved on. The kids gravitated to the 'Fabric of Space'. They were also fascinated with the small Earth globe stress ball I made into a 3D version of a magnetic field by placing a square 1" neodymium magnet inside it. They had fun sprinkling the staples all over it to see the magnetic field around it. Some tried to see how tall they could make the staples stack up from end to end at the north pole.
