Comments and anecdotes about the event:
It was a pretty good turnout, we talked about the solar system with the Sun Banner on display along with the scaled planets. I had my clay asteroid collection with me of the 10 largest in the asteroid belt. The kids thought the planets were pretty neat. We saw the waxing crescent Moon with a nice depiction of Earth shine on the Moon. Someone asked if they could see the flag on the Moon so I went over why we can't. We caught a glimpse of Jupiter and Saturn. One guy stayed around and visited for a bit, he went home and came back with a little refactor telescope he wanted to donate to the club. I had planned to have a door prize at one of my next upcoming events, I think I will use this as my door prize. My 11year old niece came along for the ride, she was my photographer and clicker (took head count).
